Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Consumer & Cyclical and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Retail and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.01%, while the MDAX index declined 1.29%, and the TecDAX index added 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 2.96% or 4.36 points to trade at 151.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 1.99% or 7.90 points to end at 405.60 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 1.90% or 0.38 points to 20.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 5.12% or 1.14 points to trade at 21.12 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 3.40% or 6.20 points to end at 176.20 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 2.83% or 1.07 points to 36.72.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 6.09% to 15.43, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 5.08% to settle at 88.95 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.32% to close at 136.60.
The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 11.44% to 60.08 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 7.44% to settle at 18.65 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 6.33% to 2.31 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 9.68% to 79.35, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 6.09% to settle at 15.43 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.32% to close at 136.60.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 7.44% to 18.65 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.95% to settle at 27.84 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.90% to 69.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 409 to 261 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.08% or 4.30 to 88.95.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.02% to 17.41 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.86% or 15.65 to $1,834.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.50% or 0.38 to hit $76.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.41 to trade at $82.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 105.21.
