Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Basic Resources and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Insurance and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.49% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index fell 0.37%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 2.14% or 0.71 points to trade at 34.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 0.35% or 0.050 points to end at 14.435 and Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) was up 0.03% or 0.050 points to 143.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 8.47% or 1.110 points to trade at 11.990 at the close. E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) declined 3.79% or 0.250 points to end at 6.350 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was down 3.64% or 4.450 points to 117.950.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 2.02% to 47.980, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXId) which was up 1.78% to settle at 74.460 and Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which gained 1.02% to close at 71.330.
The worst performers were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 2.54% to 31.125 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which lost 2.12% to settle at 62.650 and Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was down 1.68% to 27.145 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 6.09% to 44.940, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 3.71% to settle at 31.180 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 2.96% to close at 23.160.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 3.06% to 10.780 in late trade, Suess Microtec NA O.N. (DE:SMHNn) which lost 2.49% to settle at 5.953 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 2.13% to 53.190 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 487 to 349 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) fell to all time lows; falling 3.79% or 0.250 to 6.350.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.45% to 19.82.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.75 to $1311.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.84% or 0.81 to hit $43.10 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.64 to trade at $45.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1159, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8529.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 95.98.
