Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Financial Services and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.73%, while the MDAX index declined 0.41%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 8.62% or 7.255 points to trade at 91.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 1.94% or 1.390 points to end at 73.000 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was up 0.91% or 1.350 points to 149.775 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which fell 4.59% or 2.030 points to trade at 42.150 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 3.43% or 0.630 points to end at 17.753 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was down 2.68% or 0.830 points to 30.160.
The top performers on the MDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 15.24% to 117.575, Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which was up 4.30% to settle at 7.9480 and LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which gained 3.79% to close at 112.360.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 8.09% to 4.853 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 6.22% to settle at 78.160 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 5.48% to 5.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 15.24% to 117.575, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 8.62% to settle at 91.440 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 3.39% to close at 22.560.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 6.22% to 78.160 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 3.67% to settle at 91.800 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 3.43% to 17.753 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 400 to 278 and 64 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.46% to 33.49.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.84% or 14.45 to $1699.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.05% or 0.26 to hit $24.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.00% or 0.93 to trade at $30.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.0812, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8757.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 100.227.
