Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Industrials and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.71%, while the MDAX index declined 1.07%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 2.54% or 3.800 points to trade at 153.650 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) added 0.96% or 0.085 points to end at 8.915 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was up 0.48% or 0.48 points to 99.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which fell 2.84% or 0.425 points to trade at 14.520 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) declined 2.72% or 1.900 points to end at 67.880 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 2.08% or 0.159 points to 7.496.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 2.33% to 72.840, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was up 1.50% to settle at 13.515 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which gained 1.25% to close at 69.050.
The worst performers were Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 3.41% to 121.16 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 3.28% to settle at 5.869 and Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which was down 3.23% to 64.500 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 5.08% to 53.750, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 2.54% to settle at 153.650 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 2.33% to close at 72.840.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 3.23% to 47.860 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 2.21% to settle at 23.860 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 1.78% to 30.880 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 423 to 253 and 83 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 10.41% to 15.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.76% or 11.45 to $1510.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 13.91% or 7.62 to hit $62.42 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 14.40% or 8.67 to trade at $68.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1000, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 98.208.
