Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Retail and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.54%, while the MDAX index declined 0.28%, and the TecDAX index added 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 4.00% or 0.074 points to trade at 1.934 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 1.46% or 0.305 points to end at 21.160 and Linde PLC (DE:LINI) was up 1.17% or 2.400 points to 206.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which fell 4.73% or 1.630 points to trade at 32.860 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 3.42% or 2.94 points to end at 83.01 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was down 2.33% or 0.895 points to 37.550.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 4.35% to 62.400, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 4.11% to settle at 50.950 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 3.39% to close at 45.75.
The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 9.41% to 8.7260 in late trade, GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which lost 3.74% to settle at 30.650 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 3.03% to 65.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which rose 21.73% to 45.100, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was up 5.09% to settle at 23.12 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 4.35% to close at 62.400.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 2.86% to 14.695 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 2.56% to settle at 76.000 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 1.06% to 88.650 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 352 to 312 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) rose to 52-week lows; rising 21.73% or 8.050 to 45.100.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.49% to 28.75.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.23% or 23.80 to $1966.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.13 to hit $40.05 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.08 to trade at $43.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1798, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.9003.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 93.302.
