Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Software and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.49%, while the MDAX index fell 0.11%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which rose 3.13% or 5.00 points to trade at 164.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 2.25% or 0.69 points to end at 31.42 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 2.04% or 0.82 points to 41.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 1.93% or 1.06 points to trade at 53.90 at the close. Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) declined 1.78% or 1.12 points to end at 61.90 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was down 1.68% or 0.74 points to 43.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which rose 3.89% to 44.10, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.65% to settle at 21.29 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.53% to close at 34.10.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 4.20% to 3.42 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 2.37% to settle at 5.76 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.29% to 20.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 3.65% to 21.29, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.53% to settle at 34.10 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.25% to close at 31.42.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.29% to 20.44 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 1.82% to settle at 25.86 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 1.48% to 192.88 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 260 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to all time lows; falling 4.20% or 0.15 to 3.42.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.22% to 15.06.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 5.70 to $2,422.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.66% or 1.28 to hit $75.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 1.23 to trade at $79.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 104.37.
