Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food & Beverages and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.38%, while the MDAX index added 0.85%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 2.33% or 8.40 points to trade at 369.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 1.99% or 0.75 points to end at 38.40 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) was up 1.61% or 0.31 points to 19.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Linde PLC (ETR:LINI), which fell 3.82% or 11.50 points to trade at 289.20 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) declined 2.60% or 4.95 points to end at 185.15 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was down 1.96% or 0.20 points to 9.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 7.34% to 6.44, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 5.72% to settle at 33.65 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 3.86% to close at 81.80.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 3.42% to 111.40 in late trade, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which lost 3.25% to settle at 17.72 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was down 2.38% to 8.85 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 2.33% to 369.40, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.18% to settle at 28.10 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 1.93% to close at 20.63.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 5.74% to 13.54 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 3.08% to settle at 17.32 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 2.19% to 17.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 343 to 339 and 78 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.36% to 19.55.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.14% or 21.15 to $1,837.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.67% or 1.22 to hit $74.06 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 1.08 to trade at $78.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.81% at 104.86.
