Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Financial Services and Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Media, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.38%, while the MDAX index lost 0.02%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 0.95% or 1.150 points to trade at 121.950 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.88% or 0.41 points to end at 47.04 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was up 0.78% or 0.071 points to 9.149 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 4.48% or 2.400 points to trade at 51.140 at the close. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 3.28% or 3.60 points to end at 106.15 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 2.46% or 0.650 points to 25.790.
The top performers on the MDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 13.99% to 33.5700, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was up 3.74% to settle at 59.650 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 2.64% to close at 116.500.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 5.94% to 52.250 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 4.58% to settle at 12.090 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which was down 3.34% to 87.12 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 13.67% to 33.475, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was up 4.90% to settle at 15.84 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which gained 3.74% to close at 59.650.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 3.18% to 18.550 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 2.75% to settle at 77.700 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 2.69% to 52.550 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 394 to 276 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) rose to all time highs; up 2.64% or 3.000 to 116.500.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.72% to 13.82.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 9.45 to $1472.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.28% or 0.16 to hit $56.96 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $62.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8555.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 98.050.
