Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Construction and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Transportation & Logistics and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.32%, while the MDAX index lost 0.17%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 7.08% or 6.500 points to trade at 98.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 2.18% or 2.91 points to end at 136.47 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 1.78% or 1.54 points to 88.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which fell 4.12% or 0.435 points to trade at 10.125 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 1.88% or 1.850 points to end at 96.700 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 1.36% or 1.38 points to 100.05.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which rose 3.19% to 28.150, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 2.19% to settle at 43.46 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which gained 2.04% to close at 27.510.
The worst performers were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was down 5.45% to 6.85 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which lost 3.45% to settle at 6.708 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 3.19% to 34.730 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 7.08% to 98.370, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 2.19% to settle at 43.46 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 1.89% to close at 38.035.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 2.96% to 14.740 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 1.72% to settle at 23.360 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.46% to 89.360 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 407 to 282 and 52 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.53% to 40.47.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.61% or 10.65 to $1726.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.35% or 0.49 to hit $36.75 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 0.74 to trade at $39.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1286, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 96.855.
