Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Software and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.22%, while the MDAX index lost 0.49%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which rose 1.29% or 2.10 points to trade at 164.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) added 0.94% or 0.48 points to end at 51.68 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 0.86% or 0.28 points to 33.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 3.19% or 2.28 points to trade at 69.22 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 2.30% or 1.07 points to end at 45.36 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was down 1.65% or 0.19 points to 11.05.
The top performers on the MDAX were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which rose 3.84% to 35.12, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 1.97% to settle at 31.04 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 1.53% to close at 21.91.
The worst performers were Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which was down 5.44% to 106.10 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 2.59% to settle at 7.21 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 2.03% to 82.82 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which rose 8.15% to 38.50, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 3.16% to settle at 91.40 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which gained 2.50% to close at 48.36.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 7.69% to 37.32 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 2.25% to settle at 9.29 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 1.79% to 13.16 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 388 to 263 and 95 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.46% to 14.87.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.50 to $1,963.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.68% or 1.29 to hit $75.60 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 1.30 to trade at $80.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 99.61.
