Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Financial Services and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.12%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.59%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG), which rose 1.16% or 0.780 points to trade at 67.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 1.01% or 0.48 points to end at 48.21 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 0.98% or 0.150 points to 15.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 2.73% or 3.350 points to trade at 119.150 at the close. Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) declined 1.79% or 1.80 points to end at 98.92 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was down 1.37% or 0.630 points to 45.500.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which rose 3.68% to 36.75, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was up 2.93% to settle at 43.50 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which gained 2.69% to close at 27.070.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 2.83% to 12.550 in late trade, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which lost 2.27% to settle at 12.03 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 1.98% to 96.550 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which rose 3.68% to 36.75, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was up 2.62% to settle at 54.900 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which gained 2.42% to close at 275.50.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 2.73% to 119.150 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 1.98% to settle at 96.550 and Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 1.79% to 5.750 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 339 to 328 and 91 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.78% to 15.41.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 4.15 to $1498.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $53.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $59.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1123, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8656.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 97.352.
