Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Retail and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.12%, while the MDAX index added 0.02%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn), which rose 1.37% or 0.420 points to trade at 31.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 1.16% or 0.260 points to end at 22.580 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 1.08% or 0.250 points to 23.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 2.89% or 0.280 points to trade at 9.400 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) declined 2.71% or 1.880 points to end at 67.380 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was down 2.10% or 3.95 points to 183.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which rose 5.53% to 33.220, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which was up 5.46% to settle at 70.850 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which gained 3.45% to close at 128.90.
The worst performers were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 4.79% to 43.17 in late trade, Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which lost 3.17% to settle at 25.660 and Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which was down 1.70% to 30.14 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 10.36% to 18.198, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was up 4.64% to settle at 13.990 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 3.37% to close at 35.540.
The worst performers were Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 4.18% to 286.50 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 3.07% to settle at 8.906 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.17% to 146.550 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 374 to 333 and 73 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.14% to 15.78.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1217.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.90% or 2.70 to hit $66.47 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.51% or 2.62 to trade at $72.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1596, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.06.
