Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Software, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Construction and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.11%, while the MDAX index gained 0.42%, and the TecDAX index added 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which rose 2.61% or 4.10 points to trade at 161.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 2.17% or 0.50 points to end at 23.56 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.05% or 0.24 points to 11.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which fell 17.56% or 7.28 points to trade at 34.17 at the close. Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) declined 1.99% or 1.42 points to end at 69.86 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was down 0.96% or 1.20 points to 123.45.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.35% to 27.84, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.84% to settle at 19.22 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 2.58% to close at 31.80.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 3.56% to 77.92 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 1.41% to settle at 119.10 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 1.05% to 61.45 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.35% to 27.84, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 2.94% to settle at 85.65 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 2.84% to close at 19.22.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.90% to 21.44 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 1.69% to settle at 33.79 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 1.41% to 69.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 319 to 290 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) fell to 5-year lows; falling 17.56% or 7.28 to 34.17.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.60% to 13.34.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 7.90 to $1,976.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.01% or 2.29 to hit $78.33 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.79% or 2.25 to trade at $82.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 103.29.
