Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Food & Beverages and Chemicals sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.11%, while the MDAX index added 0.16%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 1.88% or 0.50 points to trade at 27.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) added 1.43% or 0.44 points to end at 31.18 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 1.30% or 0.55 points to 42.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 4.18% or 10.70 points to trade at 245.20 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.05% or 0.30 points to end at 14.35 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 1.79% or 0.45 points to 24.74.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.62% to 36.31, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 4.14% to settle at 21.37 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 3.84% to close at 27.88.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.75% to 20.24 in late trade, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which lost 4.32% to settle at 108.60 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 3.39% to 105.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 3.03% to 10.86, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 1.35% to settle at 9.15 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 1.09% to close at 69.40.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.75% to 20.24 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.07% to settle at 28.38 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 2.83% to 27.48 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 317 and 89 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.09% to 16.03.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.22% or 4.15 to $1,933.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.08% or 0.75 to hit $69.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.79 to trade at $74.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 102.39.
