Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Chemicals and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.03%, while the MDAX index added 0.09%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.77% or 0.84 points to trade at 31.19 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 2.37% or 1.05 points to end at 45.44 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 2.19% or 1.60 points to 74.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 1.36% or 0.88 points to trade at 63.70 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.35% or 1.65 points to end at 120.50 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.28% or 0.42 points to 32.28.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 2.58% to 3.06, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 2.29% to settle at 8.84 and Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which gained 2.26% to close at 29.45.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 2.46% to 37.32 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 1.34% to settle at 58.75 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 1.30% to 29.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 1.93% to 68.50, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 1.57% to settle at 58.40 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.50% to close at 13.54.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.34% to 58.75 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 1.25% to settle at 15.80 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 1.02% to 13.63 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 313 to 275 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.77% or 0.84 to 31.19.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.18% to 15.09.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.05 to $2,596.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.66% or 0.46 to hit $69.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.51 to trade at $73.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.59.
