Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Basic Resources and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.03%, while the MDAX index added 0.51%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 3.29% or 4.70 points to trade at 147.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) added 1.54% or 0.620 points to end at 40.920 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.41% or 0.76 points to 54.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 2.41% or 4.050 points to trade at 163.900 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 2.07% or 0.460 points to end at 21.800 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was down 1.55% or 0.570 points to 36.100.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which rose 4.40% to 4.980, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was up 3.13% to settle at 63.83 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 2.46% to close at 85.840.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 3.33% to 91.500 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 2.48% to settle at 23.190 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.28% to 57.750 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which rose 1.52% to 45.16, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 1.06% to settle at 1.856 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 0.92% to close at 328.600.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 3.33% to 91.500 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 2.48% to settle at 23.190 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 2.35% to 9.365 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 345 to 328 and 74 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.24% to 26.13.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.68% or 13.15 to $1944.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.39% or 0.58 to hit $41.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.31 to trade at $43.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1736, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.9063.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.575.
