Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software, Consumer & Cyclical and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Transportation & Logistics and Telecom sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.25%, while the MDAX index gained 0.20%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (XETRA:HNKG_p), which rose 2.72% or 2.360 points to trade at 89.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) added 1.67% or 2.850 points to end at 173.600 and SAP AG O.N. (XETRA:SAPG) was up 1.63% or 0.930 points to 57.860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which fell 3.46% or 0.485 points to trade at 13.535 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) declined 2.63% or 0.710 points to end at 26.250 and BASF SE NA O.N. (XETRA:BASFN) was down 1.57% or 1.110 points to 69.520.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE (XETRA:ANNGn) which rose 2.97% to 26.89, Deutsche Euroshop AG O.N. (XETRA:DEQGn) which was up 1.87% to settle at 36.250 and Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which gained 1.85% to close at 18.125.
The worst performers were Kabel Deutschland Holding AG O.N. (XETRA:KD8Gn) which was down 2.59% to 111.000 in late trade, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:FPEG_p) which lost 1.65% to settle at 33.400 and Kion Group AG (XETRA:KGX) which was down 1.44% to 31.05 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG O.N. (XETRA:JENG) which rose 7.76% to 10.305, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which was up 2.42% to settle at 15.250 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which gained 1.98% to close at 100.950.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which was down 11.19% to 77.020 in late trade, QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which lost 4.24% to settle at 1.647 and Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was down 3.13% to 2.939 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 420 to 304 and 21 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.33.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.17% or 2.00 to $1196.80 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.48% or 1.89 to hit $56.25 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract rose 2.24% or 1.32 to trade at $60.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.2232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7836.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 89.83.
