Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Retail and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 2.93%, while the MDAX index declined 1.92%, and the TecDAX index fell 2.65%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which rose 0.43% or 0.13 points to trade at 30.13 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 0.13% or 0.05 points to end at 37.73 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 53.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 8.52% or 3.81 points to trade at 40.90 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 6.22% or 13.07 points to end at 197.08 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was down 5.51% or 4.20 points to 72.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which rose 10.34% to 24.27, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 5.63% to settle at 151.95 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which gained 2.86% to close at 6.79.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 8.14% to 11.73 in late trade, Daimler Truck Holding AG (DE:DTGGe) which lost 6.32% to settle at 23.14 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 6.20% to 45.38 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 1.42% to 17.10, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was up 0.54% to settle at 29.98 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which gained 0.17% to close at 30.00.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 8.14% to 11.73 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 6.57% to settle at 90.44 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 6.20% to 45.38 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 523 to 174 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.34% or 2.28 to 24.27.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.72% to 42.18.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.81% or 16.10 to $2,004.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.62% or 1.76 to hit $106.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 1.00 to trade at $110.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 98.51.
