Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Industrials and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.57%, while the MDAX index declined 1.73%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which rose 1.26% or 1.240 points to trade at 100.030 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 0.37% or 0.440 points to end at 120.920 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was up 0.36% or 0.550 points to 154.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 5.84% or 10.45 points to trade at 168.45 at the close. Covestro AG (DE:1COV) declined 4.76% or 1.770 points to end at 35.410 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 4.60% or 0.416 points to 8.624.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 3.08% to 64.84, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was up 1.85% to settle at 84.80 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 1.42% to close at 44.02.
The worst performers were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was down 9.18% to 7.87 in late trade, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which lost 7.66% to settle at 75.74 and Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 5.77% to 76.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 4.34% to 24.540, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 1.42% to settle at 44.02 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 1.14% to close at 150.300.
The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 5.41% to 271.00 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 4.78% to settle at 93.240 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 3.91% to 21.640 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 500 to 181 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) rose to all time highs; rising 3.08% or 1.94 to 64.84.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.87% to 32.53.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.96% or 16.45 to $1721.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.65% or 0.25 to hit $37.94 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.44 to trade at $40.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1340, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8905.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 96.365.
