Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.38%, while the MDAX index declined 2.18%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.91%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which rose 1.46% or 0.32 points to trade at 22.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 1.29% or 2.80 points to end at 219.40 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was up 0.85% or 3.20 points to 381.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 6.39% or 0.76 points to trade at 11.13 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 4.08% or 14.10 points to end at 331.20 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 3.82% or 1.41 points to 35.65.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 3.30% to 24.44, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 1.95% to settle at 21.42 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.20% to close at 25.28.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 6.61% to 9.82 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 6.46% to settle at 36.90 and Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which was down 6.19% to 94.65 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 1.95% to 21.42, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was up 1.46% to settle at 22.28 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.20% to close at 25.28.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 6.61% to 9.82 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 6.17% to settle at 26.14 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 5.74% to 55.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 466 to 174 and 26 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.29% to 15.38 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.63% or 33.75 to $2,039.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.86% or 2.01 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.62% or 1.99 to trade at $77.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 102.31.
