Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.35%, while the MDAX index declined 1.62%, and the TecDAX index declined 2.66%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 1.60% or 0.78 points to trade at 49.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 0.65% or 0.390 points to end at 60.410 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 0.55% or 0.060 points to 10.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 7.21% or 8.35 points to trade at 107.40 at the close. Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) declined 4.56% or 3.62 points to end at 75.69 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 3.88% or 1.633 points to 40.420.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which rose 7.38% to 38.720, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 1.40% to settle at 15.482 and Befesa SA (DE:BFSA) which gained 0.51% to close at 59.50.
The worst performers were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 8.80% to 54.100 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 6.58% to settle at 104.400 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 5.31% to 11.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 2.50% to 20.12, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 0.18% to settle at 47.980 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 0.18% to close at 113.100.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 6.65% to 35.100 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 6.58% to settle at 104.400 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 5.88% to 41.600 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 536 to 170 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.80% or 5.220 to 54.100. Shares in TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) fell to all time lows; losing 5.31% or 0.63 to 11.22.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.87% to 27.04.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.05% or 18.65 to $1765.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.77% or 1.16 to hit $66.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.47% or 1.01 to trade at $69.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1307, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8491.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.085.
