Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.34% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 1.39%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 1.87% or 4.50 points to trade at 245.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) added 1.14% or 2.05 points to end at 182.25 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.10% or 0.14 points to 12.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which fell 6.27% or 3.68 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 5.30% or 26.80 points to end at 479.20 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was down 4.41% or 0.63 points to 13.77.
The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 1.50% to 77.20, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was up 1.49% to settle at 47.75 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which gained 1.17% to close at 99.45.
The worst performers were Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which was down 4.54% to 70.40 in late trade, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which lost 4.43% to settle at 67.95 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 3.83% to 47.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 1.87% to 245.70, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 1.08% to settle at 234.00 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 0.72% to close at 8.40.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 4.39% to 61.00 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 4.22% to settle at 76.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.77% to 36.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 439 to 168 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.27% or 3.68 to 55.00. Shares in Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.43% or 3.15 to 67.95.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 12.02% to 15.44 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.18% or 27.30 to $2,345.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $78.60 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $82.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 105.19.
