Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.30%, while the MDAX index declined 1.28%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which rose 0.56% or 1.05 points to trade at 187.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) added 0.15% or 0.07 points to end at 46.44 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 0.14% or 0.08 points to 55.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 5.72% or 1.47 points to trade at 24.23 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 3.94% or 1.13 points to end at 27.44 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 2.97% or 13.00 points to 424.40.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which rose 2.45% to 37.66, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 0.96% to settle at 89.35 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which gained 0.86% to close at 70.70.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 7.07% to 1.77 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 6.47% to settle at 40.78 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.30% to 6.18 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which rose 1.26% to 16.10, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 0.96% to settle at 89.35 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which gained 0.14% to close at 55.72.
The worst performers were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 7.68% to 19.00 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 6.47% to settle at 40.78 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 4.91% to 27.48 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 164 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.45% or 0.90 to 37.66. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.30% or 0.35 to 6.18.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 13.17% to 14.87 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.71% or 39.55 to $2,348.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.88% or 0.76 to hit $87.35 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.94 to trade at $91.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 104.00.
