Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.30%, while the MDAX index fell 0.25%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 0.99% or 1.05 points to trade at 107.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 0.52% or 0.55 points to end at 105.55 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 0.53% or 0.180 points to 34.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn), which fell 3.59% or 4.22 points to trade at 113.31 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 2.71% or 0.730 points to end at 26.200 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 2.48% or 0.235 points to 9.245.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which rose 6.73% to 73.700, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 5.26% to settle at 32.230 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which gained 3.35% to close at 98.700.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 5.51% to 114.900 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which lost 4.59% to settle at 37.000 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 3.77% to 5.160 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which rose 5.58% to 19.690, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 5.26% to settle at 32.230 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which gained 3.06% to close at 252.50.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 5.51% to 114.900 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which lost 2.71% to settle at 26.200 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 2.48% to 18.860 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 395 to 276 and 20 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.93% to 25.38.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.89% or 16.50 to $1878.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.60% or 0.25 to hit $41.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.19 to trade at $43.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1817, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 92.865.
