Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Chemicals and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.15%, while the MDAX index fell 0.81%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 1.11% or 1.600 points to trade at 145.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.53% or 0.23 points to end at 43.23 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 0.53% or 0.320 points to 60.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG), which fell 3.15% or 1.910 points to trade at 58.700 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) declined 3.09% or 1.300 points to end at 40.720 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 2.76% or 0.430 points to 15.166.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 1.56% to 87.900, Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was up 0.87% to settle at 52.450 and LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which gained 0.72% to close at 104.600.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 7.69% to 55.940 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which lost 3.52% to settle at 36.22 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 2.94% to 9.434 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which rose 2.48% to 43.040, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 1.56% to settle at 87.900 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 1.11% to close at 145.100.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 7.69% to 55.940 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 3.91% to settle at 19.890 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 3.67% to 9.065 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 472 to 198 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.15% or 1.910 to 58.700.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.74% to 20.50.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.86% or 28.05 to $1536.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.31% or 1.83 to hit $53.52 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.04% or 1.22 to trade at $58.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1140, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.9075.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 97.600.
