Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Retail and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.11%, while the MDAX index fell 1.71%, and the TecDAX index declined 2.29%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 2.21% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.110 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 1.75% or 1.085 points to end at 63.015 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) was up 1.41% or 1.54 points to 110.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 4.80% or 6.00 points to trade at 119.00 at the close. Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) declined 4.40% or 3.63 points to end at 78.90 and E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) was down 4.29% or 0.476 points to 10.624.
The top performers on the MDAX were Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which rose 1.40% to 92.70, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 1.29% to settle at 6.732 and Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which gained 1.07% to close at 38.570.
The worst performers were AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 7.38% to 27.60 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 6.44% to settle at 171.400 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 5.85% to 10.630 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 0.92% to 61.220, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was up 0.09% to settle at 16.926 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 0.33% to close at 30.28.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 6.44% to 171.400 in late trade, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which lost 6.06% to settle at 37.20 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 5.66% to 43.660 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 492 to 211 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; losing 7.38% or 2.20 to 27.60.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 10.86% to 19.39 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.24% or 22.35 to $1783.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.95% or 1.50 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.79% or 2.22 to trade at $81.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1263, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.427.
