Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.09%, while the MDAX index fell 2.05%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 2.16% or 4.80 points to trade at 227.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 0.51% or 0.85 points to end at 168.50 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 0.45% or 1.00 points to 224.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 4.02% or 1.08 points to trade at 25.78 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 3.19% or 1.22 points to end at 37.06 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 3.15% or 0.88 points to 26.93.
The top performers on the MDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which rose 0.95% to 23.40, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 0.44% to settle at 68.15 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which gained 0.21% to close at 72.85.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 6.37% to 27.65 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 6.19% to settle at 2.06 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 5.98% to 8.49 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which rose 0.95% to 23.40, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 0.44% to settle at 68.15 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 0.09% to close at 21.22.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 5.98% to 8.49 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 5.57% to settle at 50.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.19% to 37.06 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 452 to 155 and 34 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.35% to 13.00.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.73% or 17.10 to $2,339.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.69% or 0.55 to hit $79.28 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.54 to trade at $83.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 105.00.
