Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.03%, while the MDAX index lost 0.88%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 2.23% or 0.22 points to trade at 10.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 1.62% or 0.22 points to end at 13.78 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 0.94% or 0.28 points to 30.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 3.23% or 0.95 points to trade at 28.43 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 3.21% or 2.22 points to end at 66.90 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 3.14% or 1.08 points to 33.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 6.40% to 42.72, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 1.82% to settle at 35.29 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which gained 0.83% to close at 668.50.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.70% to 38.16 in late trade, RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which lost 3.20% to settle at 35.72 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.15% to 11.83 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 6.40% to 42.72, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 1.82% to settle at 35.29 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 1.19% to close at 16.19.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 5.06% to 80.75 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.15% to settle at 11.83 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.14% to 33.35 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 445 to 202 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.94% or 0.28 to 30.14.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.71% to 17.81.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.60 to $1,947.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.75% or 0.62 to hit $83.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.63 to trade at $87.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 102.71.
