Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Retail and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.80%, while the MDAX index fell 0.39%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p), which rose 3.48% or 2.850 points to trade at 84.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 1.53% or 1.65 points to end at 109.25 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) was up 1.52% or 1.925 points to 128.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which fell 10.92% or 9.36 points to trade at 76.36 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 4.29% or 1.835 points to end at 40.980 and Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) was down 2.68% or 0.63 points to 22.88.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 2.16% to 42.000, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was up 1.73% to settle at 85.740 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which gained 1.14% to close at 30.20.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was down 4.64% to 503.500 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which lost 3.08% to settle at 25.20 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.02% to 17.453 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 2.16% to 42.000, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 1.38% to settle at 48.370 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 1.23% to close at 135.800.
The worst performers were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was down 5.15% to 36.80 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which lost 4.29% to settle at 40.980 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 2.82% to 41.400 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 445 to 261 and 68 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.56% to 22.08.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.01% or 0.20 to $1784.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.46% or 0.33 to hit $72.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.32 to trade at $75.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1346, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.8572.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 95.900.
