Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Insurance and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.73%, while the MDAX index fell 1.00%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 2.65% or 1.40 points to trade at 54.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) added 1.40% or 1.400 points to end at 101.650 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was up 0.67% or 1.00 points to 150.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 63.74% or 2.252 points to trade at 1.281 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 6.23% or 0.598 points to end at 8.994 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was down 3.19% or 1.150 points to 34.890.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 1.89% to 89.420, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 1.34% to settle at 38.940 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 1.32% to close at 153.700.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 5.11% to 5.900 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 4.26% to settle at 3.755 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 3.58% to 90.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 1.89% to 89.420, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 1.81% to settle at 10.290 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which gained 1.34% to close at 38.940.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 63.74% to 1.281 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 3.58% to settle at 90.350 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 2.80% to 26.360 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 416 to 254 and 68 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.78% to 37.52.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.72% or 12.75 to $1783.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.72% or 0.28 to hit $38.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.14 to trade at $40.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.9096.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.343.
