Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Consumer & Cyclical and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.72%, while the MDAX index declined 0.57%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 1.80% or 1.315 points to trade at 74.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 1.69% or 0.180 points to end at 10.835 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was up 1.11% or 0.620 points to 56.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which fell 4.14% or 3.66 points to trade at 84.72 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) declined 3.31% or 19.600 points to end at 573.400 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) was down 3.22% or 2.83 points to 85.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 4.85% to 28.97, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was up 2.59% to settle at 32.54 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which gained 1.63% to close at 59.180.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.57% to 188.900 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 3.15% to settle at 43.100 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was down 2.68% to 85.500 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 4.85% to 28.97, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 1.20% to settle at 52.420 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 1.03% to close at 23.635.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which was down 7.34% to 126.300 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 4.57% to settle at 188.900 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 3.31% to 573.400 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 439 to 265 and 68 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.80% to 22.42.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 3.25 to $1753.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $73.97 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.70 to trade at $77.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1718, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8562.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.278.
