Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.69%, while the MDAX index declined 0.69%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn), which rose 2.54% or 0.590 points to trade at 23.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 1.01% or 0.960 points to end at 96.350 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was up 0.15% or 0.100 points to 67.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 1.78% or 0.158 points to trade at 8.717 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 1.71% or 0.415 points to end at 23.825 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 1.36% or 0.155 points to 11.210.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG NA O.N. (DE:LEOGn) which rose 5.01% to 34.180, Elringklinger AG NA O.N. (DE:ZILGn) which was up 1.38% to settle at 20.580 and DMG Mori Seiki AG (DE:GILG) which gained 0.74% to close at 37.355.
The worst performers were Deutsche Euroshop AG O.N. (DE:DEQGn) which was down 5.74% to 38.765 in late trade, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which lost 4.92% to settle at 57.600 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 3.16% to 86.220 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 1.32% to 39.980, QSC AG NA O.N. (DE:QSCG) which was up 1.27% to settle at 1.600 and STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which gained 1.25% to close at 51.160.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 6.05% to 43.235 in late trade, Drillisch AG O.N. (DE:DRIG) which lost 3.38% to settle at 43.215 and Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which was down 2.90% to 3.245 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 488 to 208 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.16% or 2.810 to 86.220.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.02% to 21.71.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.08% or 0.90 to $1081.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.18% or 0.91 to hit $40.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.41 to trade at $44.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.88% to 1.0721, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.7050.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 99.25.
