Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.67%, while the MDAX index lost 0.04%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 1.93% or 3.23 points to trade at 170.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) added 1.22% or 1.26 points to end at 104.16 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.12% or 0.54 points to 48.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 3.81% or 6.97 points to trade at 175.79 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p) declined 3.71% or 3.250 points to end at 84.320 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was down 3.60% or 2.575 points to 69.040.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 4.55% to 11.61, Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was up 4.45% to settle at 869.00 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which gained 4.16% to close at 5.965.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 3.50% to 42.980 in late trade, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which lost 3.03% to settle at 15.883 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 2.84% to 41.090 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 8.99% to 14.43, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 4.55% to settle at 11.61 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 3.40% to close at 33.460.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 2.84% to 41.090 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 2.62% to settle at 58.000 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.51% to 63.96 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 408 to 292 and 80 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 7.66% to 19.67.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 6.85 to $1805.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.02% or 1.46 to hit $70.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.07% or 1.55 to trade at $73.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8499.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 96.420.
