Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transportation & Logistics, Technology and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.65%, while the MDAX index declined 0.42%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 2.42% or 8.20 points to trade at 347.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) added 1.72% or 3.90 points to end at 230.60 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 1.62% or 1.58 points to 99.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which fell 5.58% or 0.69 points to trade at 11.60 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) declined 5.21% or 2.32 points to end at 42.09 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 5.12% or 1.72 points to 31.88.
The top performers on the MDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 8.95% to 50.90, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was up 5.45% to settle at 66.75 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 5.42% to close at 14.39.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 9.53% to 1.79 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 7.17% to settle at 12.69 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 4.24% to 32.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 8.95% to 50.90, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 5.42% to settle at 14.39 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 3.45% to close at 9.60.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 18.05% to 32.78 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 5.85% to settle at 28.32 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 5.12% to 31.88 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 385 to 236 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) rose to all time highs; up 1.72% or 3.90 to 230.60. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) fell to 52-week lows; losing 18.05% or 7.22 to 32.78.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.83% to 13.32.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.10% or 2.10 to $2,053.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.30 to trade at $78.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 103.98.
