Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.65%, while the MDAX index declined 0.55%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 1.78% or 0.216 points to trade at 12.366 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 1.70% or 0.670 points to end at 40.140 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) was up 1.16% or 2.55 points to 222.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 13.50% or 13.26 points to trade at 84.94 at the close. Puma SE (DE:PUMG) declined 2.58% or 2.65 points to end at 100.10 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) was down 2.56% or 1.56 points to 59.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which rose 3.50% to 7.865, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 3.30% to settle at 18.450 and Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which gained 2.42% to close at 58.520.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 5.30% to 37.560 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 4.91% to settle at 170.250 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.79% to 94.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 3.30% to 18.450, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 1.70% to settle at 40.140 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 0.53% to close at 30.530.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 5.30% to 37.560 in late trade, Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which lost 5.04% to settle at 179.00 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.91% to 170.250 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 405 to 288 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.50% or 0.266 to 7.865.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.65% to 18.70.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.42% or 7.55 to $1796.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.86% or 0.68 to hit $78.78 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.29 to trade at $81.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.1357, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8363.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 95.780.
