Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.63%, while the MDAX index lost 0.75%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which rose 2.68% or 0.372 points to trade at 14.265 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 1.62% or 0.870 points to end at 54.680 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) was up 1.57% or 2.62 points to 168.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 2.68% or 1.322 points to trade at 48.083 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 2.35% or 2.70 points to end at 112.10 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 2.42% or 0.830 points to 33.435.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which rose 1.10% to 86.40, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 0.74% to settle at 10.9500 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 0.88% to close at 159.900.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 6.84% to 7.442 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which lost 6.30% to settle at 25.300 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 4.07% to 78.950 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which rose 2.68% to 14.265, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 0.88% to settle at 159.900 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 0.74% to close at 38.60.
The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 5.20% to 228.00 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which lost 4.07% to settle at 78.950 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 4.00% to 92.440 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 398 to 239 and 34 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.87% to 27.77.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 4.60 to $1951.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.30% or 1.28 to hit $37.51 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.91% or 1.19 to trade at $39.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1876, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.9021.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.263.
