Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Financial Services and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.52%, while the MDAX index declined 0.33%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 2.12% or 0.84 points to trade at 40.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (ETR:LINI) added 0.96% or 2.90 points to end at 306.00 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) was up 0.89% or 0.60 points to 68.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 2.64% or 0.50 points to trade at 18.41 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) declined 2.39% or 3.36 points to end at 137.42 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 2.14% or 9.20 points to 420.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which rose 3.68% to 81.65, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was up 3.29% to settle at 257.20 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which gained 2.28% to close at 11.23.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 3.86% to 2.42 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 3.82% to settle at 36.49 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was down 3.09% to 48.86 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which rose 2.21% to 2.91, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 1.22% to settle at 29.05 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 1.19% to close at 23.85.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 6.91% to 115.80 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 3.53% to settle at 17.75 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.40% to 18.47 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 459 to 207 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; up 3.29% or 8.20 to 257.20. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; rising 1.22% or 0.35 to 29.05.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.18% to 20.09.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.31% or 5.75 to $1,844.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.14% or 0.11 to hit $76.66 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.90 to trade at $83.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.88% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 104.05.
