Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Software and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.48%, while the MDAX index lost 0.45%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 4.03% or 1.04 points to trade at 26.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 2.41% or 2.90 points to end at 123.30 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 1.93% or 0.54 points to 28.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which fell 2.57% or 4.70 points to trade at 178.20 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 1.84% or 4.30 points to end at 229.80 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 1.77% or 3.20 points to 177.22.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 5.32% to 116.70, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 4.22% to settle at 2.20 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 3.02% to close at 52.95.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 4.08% to 5.55 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.05% to settle at 21.80 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.09% to 89.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 3.02% to 52.95, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 0.73% to settle at 76.35 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 0.59% to close at 38.28.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.05% to 21.80 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 3.13% to settle at 232.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.09% to 89.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 379 to 241 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.03% or 1.04 to 26.86. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to all time lows; losing 4.08% or 0.24 to 5.55.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.12% to 12.58.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.10% or 25.75 to $2,360.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.59% or 2.01 to hit $79.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.96 to trade at $83.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 104.36.
