Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Retail and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.46%, while the MDAX index declined 1.19%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.66%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 1.98% or 0.700 points to trade at 36.075 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 1.52% or 2.61 points to end at 173.99 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 0.64% or 0.200 points to 31.535 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 3.30% or 0.350 points to trade at 10.270 at the close. Covestro AG (DE:1COV) declined 3.04% or 1.880 points to end at 59.940 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 2.93% or 2.480 points to 82.230.

The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 2.26% to 12.328, Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) which was up 1.74% to settle at 31.01 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which gained 0.80% to close at 105.52.

The worst performers were Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which was down 4.75% to 74.25 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 4.06% to settle at 18.797 and Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which was down 3.69% to 13.840 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which rose 1.98% to 36.075, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 0.23% to settle at 2.203 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which gained 0.15% to close at 15.002.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 4.06% to 18.797 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 2.97% to settle at 22.22 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 2.49% to 36.810 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 537 to 142 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.93% or 2.480 to 82.230. Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.26% or 0.273 to 12.328.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 12.96% to 26.24.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 2.80% or 49.75 to $1725.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.65% or 1.05 to hit $62.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 0.88 to trade at $65.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.2113, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8684.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 90.698.
