Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.46%, while the MDAX index lost 0.62%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 2.54% or 3.30 points to trade at 133.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 1.81% or 5.05 points to end at 283.45 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 0.92% or 0.570 points to 62.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 3.13% or 1.095 points to trade at 33.930 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 1.36% or 1.70 points to end at 122.98 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 1.33% or 0.116 points to 8.630.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which rose 1.94% to 84.15, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 1.45% to settle at 15.7850 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 1.00% to close at 462.600.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 6.51% to 121.30 in late trade, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which lost 4.01% to settle at 46.550 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.86% to 44.04 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 1.00% to 462.600, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was up 0.38% to settle at 133.300 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 0.71% to close at 34.100.
The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 3.99% to 21.410 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 3.86% to settle at 44.04 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 3.21% to 23.500 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 370 to 186 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.45% or 0.2250 to 15.7850.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.92% to 22.83.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.24% or 4.40 to $1838.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $57.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $60.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.2094, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 90.602.
