Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Retail and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.41%, while the MDAX index lost 1.10%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 0.65% or 0.530 points to trade at 82.580 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 0.62% or 0.590 points to end at 95.600 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 0.54% or 0.120 points to 22.305 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.95% or 1.810 points to trade at 91.050 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.92% or 3.65 points to end at 186.85 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 1.39% or 3.00 points to 213.05.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which rose 0.27% to 16.910, Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) which was up 0.26% to settle at 34.145 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which gained 0.19% to close at 106.15.
The worst performers were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 13.02% to 66.90 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which lost 3.24% to settle at 56.500 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 3.08% to 111.800 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 3.20% to 68.120, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 2.02% to settle at 4.594 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 2.00% to close at 73.930.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 5.62% to 20.575 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 4.51% to settle at 35.800 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 3.32% to 247.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 552 to 203 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.20% or 2.110 to 68.120.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.50% to 12.24.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 7.17 to $1290.17 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.35% or 0.70 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.63% or 0.95 to trade at $57.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1839, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8988.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.05.
