Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Software, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.36%, while the MDAX index declined 0.42%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 5.69% or 7.90 points to trade at 146.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) added 2.86% or 1.610 points to end at 57.820 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 2.55% or 0.550 points to 22.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which fell 2.89% or 1.70 points to trade at 57.04 at the close. Covestro AG (DE:1COV) declined 2.02% or 0.680 points to end at 33.020 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was down 1.89% or 3.000 points to 155.580.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 5.72% to 9.1980, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 5.28% to settle at 7.654 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which gained 4.04% to close at 5.980.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 8.00% to 43.45 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 4.11% to settle at 61.850 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 3.49% to 30.730 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which rose 2.55% to 22.120, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 1.80% to settle at 40.74 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 1.17% to close at 23.440.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 8.00% to 43.45 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 4.69% to settle at 20.740 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 4.11% to 61.850 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 334 to 326 and 89 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.04% to 26.92.
Gold Futures for October delivery was up 1.73% or 34.20 to $2008.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.34% or 0.55 to hit $41.56 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.23 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1782, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9016.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 93.368.
