Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.34%, while the MDAX index declined 0.54%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 3.42% or 2.30 points to trade at 69.58 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) added 1.44% or 0.128 points to end at 9.037 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was up 1.38% or 1.450 points to 106.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 2.64% or 0.472 points to trade at 17.378 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 2.24% or 0.149 points to end at 6.494 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was down 2.22% or 3.88 points to 170.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 2.99% to 26.9100, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 2.13% to settle at 23.980 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which gained 1.56% to close at 55.450.
The worst performers were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 6.88% to 38.85 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 4.74% to settle at 42.03 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 4.61% to 10.645 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 6.05% to 11.740, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 2.99% to settle at 26.910 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 2.13% to close at 23.980.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 3.34% to 40.2100 in late trade, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which lost 3.29% to settle at 8.1800 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 2.64% to 17.378 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 407 to 269 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.56% or 0.850 to 55.450.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.14% to 14.21.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.19% or 17.75 to $1514.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.42% or 0.78 to hit $54.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.65 to trade at $59.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 97.157.
