Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.31%, while the MDAX index fell 0.78%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 4.35% or 0.88 points to trade at 21.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) added 1.46% or 1.80 points to end at 125.16 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 1.17% or 0.11 points to 9.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.33% or 9.00 points to trade at 378.00 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) declined 2.33% or 4.00 points to end at 167.55 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 2.33% or 4.20 points to 176.15.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which rose 1.71% to 39.77, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 1.71% to settle at 47.10 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 1.34% to close at 68.10.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 4.02% to 30.06 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 3.96% to settle at 42.25 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 3.32% to 82.24 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which rose 3.03% to 42.82, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 1.34% to settle at 68.10 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which gained 1.29% to close at 20.40.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 4.79% to 41.15 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 4.02% to settle at 30.06 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 3.96% to 42.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 366 to 325 and 57 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.58% to 18.97.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.71% or 14.15 to $2,000.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.50% or 4.92 to hit $80.59 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.20% or 4.95 to trade at $84.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 101.92.
