Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Media and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.27%, while the MDAX index lost 0.37%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 1.44% or 0.940 points to trade at 66.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.79% or 0.37 points to end at 46.93 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was up 0.48% or 0.240 points to 49.795 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.56% or 5.200 points to trade at 108.850 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 2.23% or 0.375 points to end at 16.475 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was down 1.36% or 3.60 points to 261.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.14% to 10.805, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 1.60% to settle at 45.000 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which gained 1.46% to close at 40.420.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 2.85% to 2.696 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which lost 2.81% to settle at 47.68 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 2.52% to 29.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which rose 2.50% to 16.40, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 1.83% to settle at 32.300 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 1.60% to close at 45.0000.
The worst performers were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was down 5.38% to 151.40 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which lost 4.56% to settle at 108.850 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 2.85% to 2.696 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 405 to 263 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.50% or 0.40 to 16.40.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.21% to 15.91.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.19% or 2.75 to $1467.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.24% or 0.14 to hit $59.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.06 to trade at $64.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1087, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8408.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 97.465.
