Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Retail and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.22%, while the MDAX index fell 0.77%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.78%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 7.95% or 0.870 points to trade at 11.815 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.80% or 0.331 points to end at 9.040 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 3.61% or 2.39 points to 68.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Linde PLC (DE:LINI), which fell 3.00% or 5.950 points to trade at 192.300 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 2.32% or 6.15 points to end at 258.90 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 2.07% or 0.450 points to 21.305.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which rose 13.50% to 8.66, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 7.83% to settle at 7.274 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 5.26% to close at 4.660.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 8.95% to 274.800 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 5.08% to settle at 62.550 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 4.46% to 38.335 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which rose 3.16% to 16.438, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 1.71% to settle at 96.975 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which gained 1.17% to close at 34.540.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 8.95% to 274.800 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 5.08% to settle at 62.550 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 4.66% to 22.520 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 381 to 303 and 58 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.51% to 31.02.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.22% or 20.60 to $1703.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.41% or 1.35 to hit $38.20 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.36% or 1.42 to trade at $40.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1294, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 96.698.
