Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Consumer & Cyclical and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.20% to hit a new 6-months low, while the MDAX index declined 0.43%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which rose 1.94% or 1.30 points to trade at 68.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 1.34% or 0.27 points to end at 20.46 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) was up 0.86% or 0.32 points to 38.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 3.68% or 5.96 points to trade at 156.16 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) declined 2.16% or 1.08 points to end at 49.00 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was down 1.98% or 1.78 points to 88.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 11.79% to 110.85, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 7.43% to settle at 60.00 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which gained 6.65% to close at 56.95.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 11.45% to 52.76 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which lost 5.85% to settle at 54.70 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.11% to 33.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 7.43% to 60.00, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 2.20% to settle at 36.28 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 1.36% to close at 22.40.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.11% to 33.40 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 2.68% to settle at 7.41 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 1.76% to 72.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 298 and 98 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.62% to 18.58.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 4.25 to $1,830.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.08% or 1.75 to hit $82.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.04% or 1.75 to trade at $84.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 106.20.
