Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.14%, while the MDAX index declined 0.98%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG), which rose 2.19% or 1.88 points to trade at 87.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) added 1.91% or 2.60 points to end at 139.05 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was up 1.85% or 0.87 points to 47.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 4.07% or 0.57 points to trade at 13.43 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 2.36% or 0.63 points to end at 26.04 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) was down 2.00% or 0.92 points to 45.14.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which rose 1.31% to 17.35, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 1.14% to settle at 51.40 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 0.77% to close at 1.77.
The worst performers were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was down 4.46% to 37.70 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.25% to settle at 10.13 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.24% to 34.04 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 1.00% to 334.90, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 0.96% to settle at 31.44 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 0.69% to close at 17.60.
The worst performers were Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 4.43% to 69.00 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 3.25% to settle at 10.13 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.24% to 34.04 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 425 to 206 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.19% or 1.88 to 87.68.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.67% to 13.36.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.70% or 14.25 to $2,038.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.58% or 1.24 to hit $77.22 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.40% or 1.17 to trade at $82.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 103.91.
