Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Construction and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.11%, while the MDAX index lost 0.11%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 3.32% or 0.37 points to trade at 11.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 2.39% or 3.30 points to end at 141.66 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 2.16% or 0.25 points to 11.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which fell 3.91% or 2.29 points to trade at 56.29 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 3.36% or 14.00 points to end at 402.60 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was down 3.35% or 1.28 points to 36.92.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 12.50% to 29.08, Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which was up 5.78% to settle at 128.10 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 2.03% to close at 38.19.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.81% to 17.00 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 2.71% to settle at 7.54 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.55% to 126.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 12.50% to 29.08, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 0.75% to settle at 73.90 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 0.64% to close at 14.23.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.81% to 17.00 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 3.36% to settle at 402.60 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.98% to 45.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 363 to 305 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.32% or 0.37 to 11.52.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.60% to 19.12.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.67% or 12.30 to $1,837.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.15% or 1.63 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 1.54 to trade at $83.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.67.
