Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.02%, while the MDAX index declined 0.66%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 1.87% or 0.90 points to trade at 49.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 1.63% or 1.73 points to end at 107.72 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was up 1.62% or 2.15 points to 135.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 3.37% or 14.70 points to trade at 421.80 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 2.50% or 1.80 points to end at 70.14 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) was down 2.31% or 0.91 points to 38.44.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 4.26% to 1.91, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 3.09% to settle at 120.10 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 3.02% to close at 56.00.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 42.10% to 6.86 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.91% to settle at 26.14 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 4.84% to 120.90 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 3.09% to 120.10, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.63% to settle at 12.17 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 0.38% to close at 26.10.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 7.57% to 75.70 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 4.91% to settle at 26.14 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 3.50% to 17.51 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 317 to 276 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 5-year lows; down 42.10% or 4.99 to 6.86. Shares in Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.50% or 0.63 to 17.51.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.55% to 12.99.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.54% or 33.40 to $2,198.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.00% or 0.79 to hit $78.14 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.74 to trade at $82.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 102.64.
